Although I do product shots and food photography, I’ve never been one for still life per se, but that all changed with these light painting experiments. But guess what? You really can’t just go shoot any old thing. Surface texture and composition are super important of course, but even surface texture even more so with this form of light painting. I really haven’t done much processing with this (if any?). But I’d pull the lighlights down with the garlic and fix that distracting blue in the bowl among other things. Use a different darker board. Fix some of the “bits”. You know. Bits. Etc. etc.
I decided that the onion was beautiful, and so I am now on the hunt for glow-y kind of objects.
